Dr. Darrell M. Johnson, Executive Director
As Executive Director of Provost Academy South Carolina, Dr. Darrell M. Johnson brings not only his thirty-plus years of experience in education as both an administrator and teacher; but also his leadership and vision as an early pioneer in the use of online education technology to open the classroom to the world and accelerate learning for students.
Dr. Johnson was one of the first public school administrators in the country to provide laptop computers to high school students; implemented virtual online courses for high school students at risk of dropping out of school; and was an active member of the South Carolina Department of Education’s Virtual School Task Force.
Prior to accepting his current position, Dr. Johnson served as Superintendent for the Orangeburg (SC) Consolidated District 4, where all four of the high schools received Palmetto Gold Awards in 2008, and the entire District was recognized for closing the achievement gap. In addition, Dr. Johnson served as Associate Superintendent to the Charleston County School District, and as Director of Personnel in the Darlington County School District.
Dr. Johnson began his career in education as a teacher and coach following graduation from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana; where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Dr. Johnson was awarded his Doctor of Education degree from Vanderbilt University. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, served in Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart.

Dr. Alice Montgomery, Director of Instruction
Director of Instruction Dr. Montgomery brings to the position an extensive background in South Carolina education as a teacher, assistant principal, and administrator.
Most recently, Dr. Montgomery served as Curriculum Specialist with the South Carolina Department of Education. In this role, she worked with school administrators and teachers on the creation of lesson plans and curriculum guides, conducted professional development programs, and analyzed achievement and other data to improve instruction.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Montgomery was Assistant Principal for the Charleston County School District's Military Magnet Academy. She also was a Gifted/Talented Teacher at the Ladson Elementary School, and a Teacher at the Brentwood Middle School, both in Charleston.
Dr. Montgomery received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina, her Ed.S. and M.Ed. from The Citadel, and a B.S. from East Carolina University.

EdisonLearning
 Jeff Wahl, President and Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Wahl is President and CEO of EdisonLearning, the country’s largest provider of charter school management and school district support services to the K-12 market. EdisonLearning serves more than 350,000 students in 24 states, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
During his tenure, he has led the operational and financial turnaround of the organization. These efforts encompassed a series of initiatives that included elimination of spending on non-core activities and implementation of strategies for redesigned finance, human resources, sales and field support operations.
Concurrent with the implementation of efficiency measures, Jeff led the expansion of the organization into new areas of educational services, including efforts that have helped EdisonLearning re-establish its position as a pioneer in education reform through creation of virtual K-12 cyber schools and extended learning offerings.
When he joined the organization in 2007, Jeff brought an extensive background and experience in strategy development and operational/financial management. Jeff spent 15 years with General Electric (GE) in a variety of operational and P&L assignments, including senior leadership positions with GE Capital. Specifically, he served as president and COO of GE Capital’s Great Lakes Bureau in Buffalo, NY. Jeff began his career as a supervising senior accountant at KPMG-Peat Marwick.
Through his work, Jeff has earned national recognition as a leading voice in education reform and has been a frequent speaker at educational conferences and frequently serves as an advisor to local, state and national leaders on education policy. Jeff is also a member of the New York City Advisory Board of New Leaders for New Schools, a leading national not-for-profit organization focused on driving improvements in public education through leadership development.
Jeff graduated with highest honors from Walsh University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Management, and Finance. He is also a Certified Black Belt in "Six Sigma," a highly disciplined process to help companies focus on developing and delivering near-perfect products and services.
Jeff splits his time between New York and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Raymond Rozycki, Senior Vice President and Chief Officer of Digital Education
Raymond Rozycki is Senior Vice President and Chief Officer of Digital Education for EdisonLearning. In this role, he is responsible for cyber operations and technology integration with both traditional education content as well as digital content in the organization’s national network of partnership schools.
Ray is a recognized pioneer in the field of online education. Prior to joining EdisonLearning, he served as Chief Academic Officer of Provost Systems, where he was responsible for product development strategy and instructional technology. Provost Systems was acquired by EdisonLearning in 2008. He was Managing Director of the National Network of Digital Schools, a premier non-profit curriculum provider; and also served as Director of Instructional Technology at Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. While with PA Cyber, Ray was instrumental in the school’s expansion from 30 students to over 8,000 students in seven years.
Ray began his career in education as an award-winning teacher and department chairman.
